- Tyres: Condition, tread, inflation, wheel nuts
- Brakes: Air lines, connections, and function (if applicable)
- Lights: Brake lights, indicators, reflectors, tail lights

- Coupling: Pin/ball hitch, kingpin, safety chains
- Chassis & Frame: Cracks, rust, general damage
- Load Restraints: Straps, chains, winches, anchor points

- Fuel Tank Structure: Tank free from dents, cracks, leaks, or corrosion; tank mounts secure.
- Fill Caps & Lids: Caps present, sealed, and correctly tightened.
- Hoses & Nozzles: No splits, perishing, bulging, or leaks; fittings tight.
- Valves & Shut‑Offs: Operating correctly; no seepage.
- Pump & Dispensing Equipment (if fitted): Securely mounted; working correctly; no abnormal noise or overheating.
- Electrical & Earthing: Wiring intact; earthing/bonding cable and clamps present and usable.
- Fire Safety Equipment: Fire extinguisher fitted, correct type, in date, and securely mounted.
- Signage & Dangerous Goods Placards: Correct placards and signage fitted and legible.
- Spill & Leak Check: No fuel staining, wet patches, or strong fuel odours present.
- Spill Kit (if required): Stocked, accessible, and serviceable.

Defect Reporting Section:
- Space to record any issues found during the inspection.
- Area for operator’s signature and supervisor’s acknowledgment.

- Notes on repairs or servicing conducted.
